I have been working with a faculty member (outside of my PhD program) who has similar research interests even though we look at the issue from different angles. I am working on 2 projects with her. For the first project, even though I did all she asked and volunteered to do (and completed) extra work, she informed me that she took my name off the manuscript that she has already submitted and has been accepted. My question is -- since I am working on another study with her, what guaranteed do I have that she won't do this again? I told her that I'll do whatever for both studies as long as my name is on the manuscript, and I've already done an exceptional amount of work for the second study. I'm strongly thinking of walking away from the second study as there really are no guarantees that she will put my name on the submitted manuscript. And how do I resign from this project? Any advice is more than welcome.
