Get Answers: Thesis/Dissertation

I'm in my third semester and I have yet to clearly define a thesis topic. It's a long story with a lot of personal details that I do not wish to go into. In any case, none of my committee members are specialists in the themes I am interested, which makes it difficult as I have no direction. There are several scholars I could contact but I cannot do so if I do not have at least a general idea of what to do. Anyone out there interested in religion, media (particularly new media), and online ethnography?
